Pikes Peak / 17 weeks
Last week we drove up Pikes Peak. I've been a handful of times and have hiked it once but Austin has only been up the Cog Railway. So I told him he was sooooo missing out and we just HAD to drive up it so he could see what he's been missing. The first picture reminds me of Scotland. We had just found out that we were having a baby girl the day before so this was sort of extra special day trip to us. To be able to see my baby bump and call her by name. It reminded me of Isaiah 43:1 "But now, Gods message, the God who made you in the first place, Jacob, the One who got you started, Israel: "don't be afraid, I've redeemed you. I've called you by name. You're mine." There is so much FEAR in pregnancy and focusing on scripture has really given me a peace and reminded me of what God has promised me. 17 weeks seems to have gone by so slow, but now that we are here I feel like it's going by fast.
How far along are you: 17 weeks
Baby Size: The size of an onion. A whole 5 inches long.
Current Cravings: Thai food like always, watermelon, plums, and lots of greek yogurt with fruit.
The Bump: growing, growing, growing.
Looking Forward: Still feeling her kick every day. She hiccups when we listen to her heartbeat and as much as everyone says it gets annoying I can't wait to feel them!
Meaningful moments: We had an unexpected ultra sound on the 4th of July. We both about melted into a puddle of goosh that moment. She was moving so much telling us she was there and saying helllllooo. The best moment.
Austin thoughts: He felt the baby the other morning and then talked about it all day. He also picked out her first outfit we bought before we knew she was a she. He came up to me at the store going on about how we have to get this because I have the same exact outfit and me and the baby have to match! It was the sweetest. So overall he's beyond happy.
It was freezing, I forgot my jacket and we kept getting out of the car, this picture on the right doesn't do it justice. BUT we were in the clouds and behind us is cliff of death.
The truth behind this, is I was actually pretty grumpy. I kept spouting off in anger so Austin kept making fun of me for being a grump. You can follow me on Instagram here.
